on his fourth studio album «old sun, new horizon» long tall jefferson combines all the best parts from his past catalog and takes them to the next level. the naked honesty and intimacy of the folk songs on his earlier albums «i want my honey back» and «lucky guy» join forces with the sonic expansion of his autotune-embracing «could folk» years to make this new collection of songs deeply personal and touching. this transformation is not without reason; after years of tirelessly playing every show he could, LTJ has settled into a domestic family life, raising two kids. «old sun, new horizon» was produced with the intention of not rushing the process, allowing it to breathe, staying true to the immediacy of the creative moment, and letting go. all these factors contributed to making this his most profound work to date.
