Ilajan

Driven by two sisters, Ilajan explores the boundaries between soft pop, ambient folk, and electronic experimentation. With their guitars, vocal harmonies, and hybrid instruments, they weave a dreamy and intimate music, perfect for contemplation. After their critically acclaimed debut EP Villes de Papier, released on Humus Records in April 2023, the duo returns this spring with a series of new tracks, leading up to their first album, set for release in autumn 2025 – a work that affirms their musical identity, ever bolder and more sensitive.

Their songs are inspired by imaginary memories, inner landscapes, and inhabited silences. At home, with a steaming cup of black tea in hand, echoes of Meimuna, Keaton Henson, Aurora, Phoebe Bridgers, and November Ultra can be heard. All of this is nurtured by a handmade approach to production and a fondness for suspended atmospheres.

After Villes de Papier, a debut EP produced in collaboration with Meimuna – Cyrielle Formaz – and released on Humus Records in April 2023, they introduced their universe to the public through around twenty concerts across Switzerland. Among these were notable performances at the Palace in St. Gall and at the Alhambra in Geneva, sold out during the Antigel festival.

This year, the two sisters are preparing to release their debut album, Les Ronces, set for November 14, 2025(Humus Records). It was composed and recorded between Geneva, Porentruy, and Berlin, in the intimacy of familiar spaces – at friends’ homes and small-scale studios. The album features the synthesizers of Samuel Jaccard, the sensitive productions of Gaspar Narby and a treasured collaboration with acclaimed artist Élie Zoé.
